Brad Pitt will Leads Sing-Along at Film Gala

The first star-studded film-award ceremony of the new year was literally something to sing about.

While not an honoree himself, actor-producer Brad Pitt stole the spotlight with a sing-along for a few moments on Saturday night at the annual black-tie gala for the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Pitt traveled about 100 miles east of Los Angeles to the desert town of Palm Springs, California, to introduce actor David Oyelowo, an honoree at the gala whose profile is only now on the rise stateside.

Pitt is a producer of director Ava DuVernay's historical epic Selma, in which British actor Oyelowo portrays civil-rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The festival honored Oyelowo with its Breakthrough Performance Award for an actor.

In his introduction, Pitt professed his admiration for Oyelowo -- both as colleague and friend -- and, at one point, Pitt led the audience in a sing-along with lyrics spinning around Oyelowo's often-mispronounced last name. (It sounds like "oh-yellow-oh," by the way).

The gala, which attracts numerous locally-based Academy voters who now have ballots in hand, traditionally is the first of each calendar year's award-season ceremonies, which include approximately two dozen events significant enough to attract major movie stars between now and the Oscars, set for Feb. 22 in Hollywood.

Last week, Lindsay Lohan contracted a virus known as Chikungunya.

Lohan was on vacation in French Polynesia when she contracted the untreatable, mosquito-borne pathogen which can be fatal in some cases.

Remarkably, less than one week later, Lindsay seems to have recovered. She hit the town on New Year's Eve and posted several Instagram pics of herself partying in Manhattan.

However, some folks who have scrutinized Linday's latest selfies say that the actress' brush with illness appears to have taken a toll.

Some fans have pointed out that Lindsay looks thinner than usual in the above pics, leading to speculation that the illness was more serious than LiLo let on.

In the past, Lindsay's weight loss has been blamed on substance abuse, but she claims to be clean and sober these days. 

Even when properly treated, Chikungunya can linger in the body for several weeks, but the initial fever generally only lasts a couple days.

Thus, many have suggested that Lindsay might be sicker than she realizes and should probably be home in bed rather than hitting up NYC hot spots.

Though her recent stint on the London stage went better than expected Lindsay was "too ill" to perform on at least one occasion.

At the time, she was accused of faking it, and now we're starting to hope that was the case. Multiple bouts with illness in the span of just a couple months could be a bad sign for someone as young as Lindsay. 

Tara Reid: Nude (And Actually Really Hot) For 2015!

Tara Reid has had a few ups and a lot of downs during her years in the spotlight. 

Recently, Tara's been enjoying a minor career renaissance thanks to her role in the unexpectedly popular Sharknado films.

She's even released a perfume called "Shark," but we can't really blame her for trying to cash in while she can. American Pie was a long, long time ago, and the years haven't been particularly kind to Tara.

In a recent interview, Reid said she was "butchered" by a plastic surgeon, but she said that she's still open to the possibility of having more work done.

No one knows for certain if Tara has gone under the knife again, but if she has endured more nips and tucks we think it's safe to say she found a more competent doc this time around:

We're sure it's a happy one for Tara, who's semi-relevant again for the first time since the late 90s. (Like we said, American Pie was officially forever ago.)

More importantly, however, Tara looks healthy and sober-ish, which hasn't happened since she was able to pass as a high school student in a movie about violating pastries.

Granted, she could be benefiting from expert Photoshopping here, but there's no way she could afford to pay someone to do it, and if she altered the pic herself, then she must have put down the bottle for a good 10-15 minutes, which beats her record for the last five years combined!

(TMZ conducted some ground-breaking investigative journalism and deduced the baby’s pic from Kutcher’s cute but evasive line-up.) They named her Wyatt Isabelle, so she’s got her bases covered should she decide to become a cowboy in the wilds of Iowa or a character in a Y.A. novel about private schoolgirls on the Upper East Side.

According to the ever-reliable Daily Mail, they’ll be raising the baby Jewish. Kunis is of Ukrainian-Jewish stock, and Kutcher dabbled in Kabbalah when he was married to Demi Moore, so he’s practically one of the tribe. Sorta.
